Sam Bolen is an actor and singer living in Brooklyn.
Originally from Duluth, Minnesota, Sam graduated from Yale University where he was a Whiffenpoof and the Spizzwink. He trained with Bill Esper at The William Esper Studio and studies voice with Mike Ruckles. His favorite color is heather grey.
Sam is the co-conceiver and star of the new musical Midnight at The Never Get, written by Mark Sonnenblick and directed by Max Friedman. The show ran off-Broadway at the York Theatre Company in the fall of 2018, and was recently nominated for the Lucille Lortel Award for Best Musical. Sam was also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Musical alongside his co-star Jeremy Cohen.
Sam has appeared many times in the Encores! series at City Center, most recently in Me & My Girl, directed by Warren Carlyle. He won the Outstanding Lead Actor award at the 2015 New York Musical Festival for his portrayal of the title character in Pope! An Epic Musical. He has also played Suzanne Vale in Jay Stull’s STREEPSHOW at ARS Nova, Dixon Place, and The Tank.
