MIDNIGHT plays Provincetown! by Sam Bolen

Trevor and Arthur are spending their summer on the Cape!

After a sold-out run at NYMF last summer, a 2017 Bistro Award, and a MAC "Show of the Year" nomination, Midnight at the Never Get is making it's New England debut at the Provincetown Inn. The Mayflower Room has been transformed into The Never Get - Sister Etcetera hosts in the front bar where tunes waft from the jukebox, and at showtime the curtain opens to reveal a smoky back room, a hot bad and the greatest act that doesn't exist. If you're on the Cape, in Boston, or just in need a trip to the shore, please join us.

MIDNIGHT at NYMF! by Sam Bolen

MIDNIGHT AT THE NEVER GET by Sam Bolen

Starting April 6th, this marvelous show will light up Don't Tell Mama for FOUR NIGHTS ONLY. It's a musical in disguise as a nightclub act, and the story it tells is a timeless and magical romance between a singer and a songwriter. I would love to see you there!

Before he shot to fame as one of America's most beloved songwriters, Arthur Brightman cribbed Porter, Berlin, and Gershwin in a queer nightclub act starring his lover, Trevor Copeland. But they needed more than love songs to escape the increasingly radical politics of 1965 Greenwich Village. Now, on the night of Brightman's death, Copeland returns to the stage to relive the story of their romance through the music it inspired. Featuring an original score fashioned after the American Songbook, MIDNIGHT AT THE NEVER GET imagines two men who never existed in a time that very much did.

Harvard vs. Yale at 54 Below! by Sam Bolen

On Tuesday, September 8th, I'll be singing a song by Mark Sonneblick & Ben Wexler at 54 Below in an epic, Ivy-covered Musical Theatre battle. Songs by Yale greats (Cole Porter) and Harvard nobodies (Leonard Berstein) sung by over-educated showfolk. Come watch the musical blood bath!

YALE WILL WIN!

POPE! & PLAID! & More! by Sam Bolen

This summer has decided to be busy!

I started rehearsals last week for POPE! An Epic Musical, which opens in July as part of NYMF. I'll be playing my life-long dream role. The infallible himself. The Pope. Not the ever-cooler Pope Francis, but a comic book hero Pope named...Pope! This show is fast, frenzied summer madness. Expect plenty of robes and capes and hats (see left). Come, and be #blessed.

Performances are July 15-21. You can read more and buy tickets HERE.

ONE NIGHT ONLY: On July 18th, I'll be reprising my role of Meryl Streep as Suzanne Vale in STREEPSHOW: Episode Two at Dixon Place, part of HOT! Festival. Expect more of this, as well as the appearance of some new Streeps! Tickets available HERE.

Then! In August, I get to return to one of my favorite places on the planet Earth: The New London Barn Playhouse. This time, I'll be playing Frankie in their season closer, FOREVER PLAID. I played the same role freshman year of college so naturally I remember every moment of it including all the plunger choreography. If you're in the upper valley or like driving to beautiful places, come check it out!

I'm slowly peppering this site with new pictures of my face taken by the exceptionally cool David Goddard. If you click nowhere else today, click here:

Check him out - he's got style for days. Headshots or otherwise, he's your man.

I started rehearsal yesterday for a reading of a new musical called SEX TODAY LOVE TOMORROW by Israela Margalit and Oran Eldor, directed by John Clancy and produced by Perry Street Theatricals. A bunch of love-crazy/love-stupid folks eventually converge on a diner in Hoboken to figure out how to be people.
